About a month ago, Brent and I went to the movies to see "Julie and Julia". We arrived a bit early so we had some time to kill til our movie started. Our theater didn't have any previews started, so we went to the theater next to ours to watch theirs. (we didn't even know what was playing there)...
As we stood there watching the lame previews, a movie attendant in his spiffy black tie and coat interrupted our date...
"Excuse me, but have you bought tickets to see this movie?" the black coat asked.
"Uh, noo....(annoyance in my voice) Our movie doesn't start for another 20 minutes, so we just thought we'd hang out and watch the previews"....(more annoyance inflected in my voice and some eye rolling) I said....
Brent...trying to stifle laughter..
"I'm sorry. But what you are doing is "previewing" and we don't allow that here at Harkins" he said.
"You have GOT to be Kidding! Previewing? Is that a crime?" I voiced in a not so nice manner.
Do they NOT realize that I could watch the same previews on my phone or on my computer? Was that wrong what we were doing? I think not.
Brent told the young man, that we would return to our theater and watch those previews and thanked him. He was calm and very kind.....I was
not happy....
When we left that theater to return to ours I felt....."shamed"....
That date night was interesting and I don't think I'll ever forget it. We still laugh over it....
Better not get caught "previewing" or it's Tent City for you!
